What is Education House?
Education House is a collaborative hub bringing together diverse education actors to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It exists to position education — and the multitude of voices within it—as a key driver of sustainable development, particularly in spaces where education has not been a priority despite its fundamental role in shaping a better future.
At UNGA 80, Education House will host conversations, collaborations, provocations, and showcases designed to reimagine education so that students are equipped to shape a better future — for themselves and for all of us.
How did Education House begin?
The idea emerged from conversations among education organizations about the need for spaces where diverse participants could explore pressing education issues—especially alongside global forums where education is often absent from the agenda. In June 2025, HundrED, Salzburg Global Seminar and Teach For All came together to pilot Education House @ UNGA 80 on September 23 in New York City.
Education House’s shared learning agenda for 2025-2026
In today’s world of climate crisis, inequality, and uncertainty, education must move beyond narrow academic goals to prepare students to shape a better future—for themselves and for all of us. Yet many systems remain tied to outdated models that do not reflect this deeper purpose.
At the Global Forum for Shaping a Better Future held in Singapore in April 2025, a diverse coalition came together around a shared learning agenda for the year ahead, guided by the question: "What will it take to equip students to shape a better future?"
This question responds to three urgent needs:
1. Accelerating a shift toward holistic student development that includes agency, well-being, empathy, and leadership.
2. Centering student voices as co-leaders in shaping education, not just recipients of it.
3. Strengthening cross-border learning to share promising practices and bridge fragmented efforts globally.
Education House will convene dialogues, surface insights, and amplify learning across the globe. Through collective inquiry and collaboration, we aim to spark a global movement that redefines the purpose of education—rooted in the belief that shaping a better future begins by reshaping how we nurture young people today.
